The Network of Resources (NoR) is an ESA initiative supporting APEx and EarthCode ESA projects. Users involved in ESA projects can apply for sponsoring of cloud resources, for research, pre-commercial, development and demonstration projects exploiting satellite-based EO data, that are not creating revenue.
Within the framework of the NoR initiative, ESA is currently supporting research, development and pre-commercial APEx and EarthCode ESA projects to innovate their working practices, moving from a data download paradigm towards a ‘bring the user to the data’ paradigm, considered essential for maintaining competitiveness of European data exploitation.
The NoR Portal provides an informative environment and an ever-increasing portfolio of innovative operational platform and cloud services operated by actors from participating countries, including EarthConsole. Usage of these resources shall accelerate the achievement of scientific goals and the sharing of the results, or approach the digital information market quicker and in an easier sustainable way.
The NoR will provide successful applicants with a voucher for the selected services, allowing free-at-point-of-use consumption for research, product development and up to pre-commercial demonstration. Vouchers must not be used to support any commercial revenue flows.
Please register and request the desired service via the EarthConsole® WebApp. Following the service request, you will have two options:
a. You can skip the steps described below: after our assessment we will prepare the NoR Sponsorship form for your review and approval (Strongly recommended);
or
b. In alternative, after our assessment, you can request the NoR Sponsorship on the NoR Discovery Portal by yourself as explained in the following Steps 1-5.

Fill-in the Pricing Wizard Form providing the requested information about your project.
Once filled-in the form with the requested information, please review it carefully. Afterwards please select Export Sponsoring Request to download a PDF attachment, sign it and email it to nor-sponsorship-requests@esa.int and put support@earthconsole.eu and info@earthconsole.eu in cc.
For ESA projects only: please ask the technical officer to sign the document as well.
Please also attach any other information you believe can support your sponsorship request.
ESA will review your sponsoring request. You will be informed by email with the outcome of the evaluation (acceptance/rejection or request for modifications).
In case of acceptance, we will contact you to activate the EarthConsole® service you requested.
