EarthConsole® is a platform facilitating the exploitation and analysis of Earth Observation data for different research, social or business purposes. The platform is easily accessible from any location, any device and at any time, being developed on a cloud environment where to be processed data are readily available without need for download.
You can make use of the platform functions in different ways. Each service can be considered as a standalone service or can be combined with the others depending on the user’s needs. Learn more below.
G-BOX – Algorithm Development and Execution Environment
G-BOX is the integrated development environment of Earth Console.
You can request a G-BOX for developing your algorithm on a cloud infrastructure and access to be processed data without the need for download.
KEY FEATURES
Flexible Cloud Service for EO data analysis
G-BOX provides you with a Cloud Virtual Machine (VM) with customized computing resources and equipped with pre-installed software supporting EO data exploitation. Additional software can be installed on request.
Accessibility anywhere
You can access your virtual machine via your own devices (PC, laptop, tablet) from anywhere in the world. You can remotely access your G-BOX via your own PC using SSH for command line access, x2go for remote desktop and JupyterLab for http web access.
Fast Access to Earth Observation Data
You won’t have to dedicate efforts on costly and time-consuming download of data. The G-BOX provides you with direct and fast access to the dataset offered by the Copernicus Data and Information Access Services – DIAS.
Jupyter Hub Integration
G-BOX comes with Jupyter Hub installed for your code development, visualization and analysis.
Flexibility
G-BOX offers a flexible amount of CPUs, RAM and dedicated storage based on your needs and requirements. You can also request more CPUs, RAM or storage if you need it, and we will upgrade the configuration of your G-BOX compatibly with the Cloud infrastructure constraints.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
P-PRO – Parallel Processing Service (also available On Demand)
P-PRO is the hosted parallel processing environment of EarthConsole®.
With P-PRO you can request campaigns to process huge volume of data in a faster and more efficient manner, thanks to its cloud computing and distributed systems technologies.
KEY FEATURES
Delegated management
We’ll run the processing for you and deliver the results once ready. You’ll just have to submit your processing request in a few simple steps through a dedicated form and validate results at any time, before, during and after processing completion.
Fast Data Processing
You can receive processing results in a significant reduced time. The P-PRO Parallelizer Engine breaks up the application input data and operations into smaller tasks, and distributes them over a set of computing nodes where they will be executed in parallel.
Shared Processors
You can select one of the processors made available in the P-PRO catalogue of processors. Or you can resort to the I-APP service to integrate your own processor, decide to keep it private or share it with other Earth Console users.
Migration Flexibility
P-PRO allows for a smooth migration of any processor from other platforms such as the ESA Grid Processing on Demand (G-POD). P-PRO comes with these processors integrated and ready for use.
Resources Optimization
P-PRO only uses the necessary resources when it needs them. The P-PRO Cloud Scaling Engine automatically adapts computing resources based on the workload of the cluster and makes sure the parallelization effort is always matched with an adequate amount of computing power.
Improved monitoring
We will make sure your processing runs as planned. With the P-PRO Monitoring Dashboards, we can visualize your processing status and resources employed at a glance and at any time.

I-APP – Application Integration Service
The I-APP service provides you with expert support to integrate you Earth Observation application in the P-PRO environment for massive processing.

Easy integration request
You can request the I-APP service in a few simple steps through a dedicated form. You will just have to provide us with a set of complementary information to run your application in the P-PRO environment.
Validation of results
You can validate the results before we complete the integration of your application. You will receive test results and confirm if they comply with what you expected.
Deliverables right in your hands
You don’t have to dedicate time and resources to integrate your application. We will take care of the whole application integration process and will provide you with the agreed deliverables once we complete the application integration.
