WHAT IS EARTHCONSOLE ®?
EarthConsole® is a cloud-based and user-centered platform designed to assist researchers, businesses and institutions in optimizing the way in which they exploit satellite data to gain new insights into our planet.
The platform brings together different resources all in one place to facilitate Earth Observation data exploitation: algorithm development functionalities, tools for data analysis and visualization, application integration and processing services. This is all accessible from any location, any device and at any time without the need to download locally any dataset.
The key principle of EarthConsole® is to simplify the exploitation of satellite data to spread Earth Observation research benefits as widely as possible. This is why the platform provides e-collaboration tools and virtual workplaces to share information and experiences, build on the work already consolidated by the community and network with fellow Earth Observation experts.
EarthConsole® not only supports the open science and e-collaboration concepts, but it makes a step forward in Earth Observation Services provisioning by implementing a user-driven approach. Users are encouraged and enabled to share their feedback on the platform with the objective of integrating emerging customers-generated ideas into EarthConsole®. This will allow the platform to improve over time and create highly valuable services based on essential customers’ needs.

ABOUT PROGRESSIVE SYSTEMS
EarthConsole® is operated by Progressive Systems Srl, an Italian company with more than a decade of experience in simplifying the access to Earth Observation data and turning this information into valuable insights for EO and non-EO experts needing to solve diverse environmental and societal challenges. The offer of the company is based on specific competences in the field of EO data quality and exploitation, algorithms development and integration into processing environment, independent test and validation, IT solutions and cloud computing, education and outreach activities.
Progressive Systems also focuses on research activities including environmental monitoring (e.g. land classification, agriculture and precision farming) and early warning and risk management support (e.g. fire detection, flood detection, ground deformation).
The company is also active in training initiatives to support universities, start-ups and SMEs interested in using Big Data.
